How to Choose Plus Size Jeans That Are Right For You
It wasn’t much more than a century ago that Levi Strauss started a little business supplying blue jeans to gold miner at wholesale prices. Those gold miners needed clothes that would endure rugged terrain and rough treatment. Today, blue jeans have earned their place as the most popular and versatile garment, maintaining that same strength yet winning the gold in comfort and appeal.
Plus-sized people agree that shopping can be extremely difficult. Finding a stylish yet comfortable pair of jeans is a rarity. The majority of jeans either hug your legs too tightly or cut into the waist or stomach. Locating the right pair of jeans for your body type can add the illusion of longer legs and smaller hips.
Plus size jeans are increasingly being made with a stretch material that allows the jean fabric to give slightly. Be on the lookout for the word “stretch” when perusing plus size jean labels. Stretch fabric is made of a cotton/poly/spandex blend. As such, it virtually glides on the body and stretches only when and where needed. Stretch fabric jeans provide maximum comfort and enhance your shape. Stretch jeans will continue to stretch out with wear, helping to keep you feeling comfortable throughout your day.
The next thing to look for in plus size jeans is the “mid-rise” qualities. Many of the jeans available today are “low-rise” jeans and look great if you have no curves. Individuals who are plus size should avoid low-rise clothing because they do not compensate for larger waists, hips or thighs. Low-cut jeans will push belly fat above the waist band and emphasize the midriff area. Most plus size people find low-rise jeans very uncomfortable to wear.
Being much more appealing and attractive classic cut jeans will help you remain stylish while you stay covered and comfortable. Sitting jut below the waist and having a straight leg from the hip all the way to the floor classic cut jeans will give a plus sized woman’s body a long, leaner look.
Avoid plus size jeans that are over-styled and include embroidery, extra pockets, extreme fading and fancy stitching. Instead, choose solid, dark wash jeans that are perfect with tee shirts, dress shirts and sweaters.
People who are larger than average need wider pant legs, and should select a dark-colored pair of jeans with five pockets.
Jeans are a very versatile wardrobe option. They can be dressed up, down, worn with any footwear including high heels. Jeans can even provide people with plus size with plenty of wardrobe options because of the variety of colors and fabrics.
Seek stretch fabric and rise quality when shopping for those extra size jeans. Found the perfect fit for those jeans, well why not spent a few extra dollars and buy a second pair while you are at it? That perfect fit will have you looking and feeling great.

Sure, it’s winter weather and we’re shivering in our boots and loving the coat, hat and gloves. Marketers know that there is a feeling inside us though, similar to a tulip bulb, that is waiting for a couple warm days and a little spray of rain. Then, we will be READY for spring and summer.
Baby Boomer women like us have learned to be watching mail for seed catalogs and for new spring clothes. We gripe when we need something like a sweater and the department stores are already sneaking in the light weight things.
As a stubborn, less than flexible Baby Boomer Woman, I’m going to shop and choose and manage to find some quality favorites that I can use with the palette that comes out in the fall.
These new colors for spring represent what I call STYLE as opposed to FASHION. They are colors that will be becoming to many of us no matter what the season or the year. They are colors that we can wear and decorate with confidently knowing we have made pleasant, acceptable and foundation choices that will not have to fly out the window on a whim.
I hope you enjoy reading and contemplating the colors for Spring 2008 from Pantone, Inc. Chili Pepper Red has been declared the hottest color for the season. You can visit Pantone, Inc to view and download their color palette for the season and I have to tell you it is so full of colors that sing to me that I’m going to want them to leave it alone for more than one season.
The list of colors this year has appealing names: Rococo Red with blues in it, not bricky, Freesia Yellow that brings the scent of Freesia to mind and looks as if it doesn’t have the greenish wash-out characteristics often found in yellow, Croissant is a taupe/tan with depth and value that will fit the style of many women. It is so beautiful that if there is any washout with your specific Baby Boomer complexion, you can use it In accent with other colors on the list and not be left out. Golden Olive has much the same benefits. Gold colored fabric works against as many complexions as it compliments, but I see potential for this one with muted yellows for less of that wash out I’ve been talking about. There is green, blue, purple, pink and silver/gray as well on the Pantone Color Palette for 2008. There may be other lists of colors recommended for Spring 2008. I do not work for Pantone, but I do cast my vote for favorites on their particular list.
Look for yourself at Pantone or join us at NewBeautySuccess.com for more information and opinion on these colors. I’m loving them and looking forward to writing about them. There is no charge for access to the members’area.
So, yes, color me happy for Spring , 2008. I hope, you dear reader, and women of all age groups besides Baby Boomers enjoy the colors as much as I plan to.

Many parents tend to think that toddler beds are simple furniture and relatively cheap. After all, no one in their right mind would spend hundreds of dollars on a bed that would potentially last only two to three years.
Nevertheless, you can get a wide range of toddler beds available in the market today. If you are shopping for one, here are a few types of beds for you to think over.
Simple
These toddler beds are of simple designs with wooden, steel and/or plastic frames. Although this type of beds usually has no fancy carvings, some may consist of pictures of popular cartoon characters to appeal to kids of that age group.
If you have a younger child and plan to pass the bed down, then a simple unisex design is always a good option. Not only it can be used by both sexes, you do not have to worry about your younger child not liking the characters on the bed frames. You have to bear in mind that what your older child prefers may not necessarily be what your younger one may end up liking.
Theme
Theme-based toddler beds are always popular with young kids. From fire truck to carriage shaped beds, you are bound to be able to find one that appeals to your toddler.
However, one word of caution on theme beds is your child may end up playing more than sleeping on such a bed. For instance, if you get your child a toddler bed shaped like Thomas The Tank Engine, you might have a hard time convincing him to sleep, especially on those first few nights. It doesn’t take much to excite a toddler and we all know kids’ imagination tend to run wild without much prompting.
Therefore, there is always that risk with a theme toddler bed. On one hand, it can encourage your young child to sleep on it but on the other, you would have to assess if it would cause too much trouble getting him or her to sleep rather than play on such a bed.
Convertible
Just like baby cribs, toddler beds too have convertible models that make them more economical in the long run. You have to fork out more now to get one but it saves you the money and hassle of shopping for another bed two or three years down the road. Some are convertible to a daybed while others can convert to a twin bed when your child has outgrown the toddler-sized one.
The unfortunate thing about convertible toddler beds is the lack of models. After all, if parents wanted convertible baby furniture, they would have started with the crib that can convert all the way into a full-sized bed. With this lack of demand, it is only natural that there is only a narrow range of models available in the market.
Others
Other toddler beds of interest include those with canopies which give them a princess look and modern with contemporary platform designs. And if you can afford it, there is always the luxurious toddler bed costing over a thousand dollars fit for royalty with its extravagant designs.
Whichever type of toddler bed, it is certainly tempting to buy one. But one last word of advice is don’t buy a toddler bed simply because it is small and cute. The cuteness will wear off after a while. It may be wiser to consider if your child can skip the toddler bed stage and move to a full-sized bed instead. Some kids can while others can’t. Therefore, assess your child’s readiness first before deciding on the type of bed to buy.

The choice of prom dress is a seemingly life important one for many girls, so it’s worth stepping back to take a look at the history of the prom gown…
In fact the high school prom is a recent phenomenon, only really starting in the early 20th century. At that time, it was a fairy small affair, with students gathering rather formally, with a live band maybe.
As the century wore on, society changed in all sorts of ways, and the prom changed with the times, but because it remained a fixture on the school calendar, it grew in tradition and importance. As the proms became a bigger and bigger event, the look you presented to others also took on more importance.
The men were able to play safe with a dinner jacket, but for the girls, it has become both a pleasure and joy, because although you can really go to town for your dress, you want to have a gown which not only stands out, but does not make you stand out for the wrong reasons.
With the rise of the internet, the options have grown even more, and girls no longer have to stick to classic ballgown looks, or make do with what the local stores have to offer – this has led to more and more girls choosing individual looks for their gowns.
The classic ballgown does look gorgeous, that’s why it’s a classic look after all, but it’s easily possible now to combine this classic type of look with any number of variations.Tight fitting corsetry, ribbons, and capes are all elements which can make heads turn, and the dark rich colours also will gain attention.
So we can see that from small beginnings through the changes of the 20th century, the history of the prom gown has gone from small and dainty to styled and classic to the many individual choices available today.

The Coach patch, creed and serial number is the number 1 topic of conversation when the authenticity of a Coach purse is being discussed. Nobody wants to buy a counterfeit bag. Everybody wants to know for sure if their bag is authentic, particularly when buying from an online auction like eBay. But is this mysterious serial number a true indicator? In a word, NO.
First, a true serial number is unique. Finding a Coach patch with an actual unique serial number is next to impossible. Coach hasn’t used a true serial number for about 10 years. Sure, the older bags had true serial numbers, but not anymore. The myths , urban legends or simple un-truths surrounding “the patch” have caused many a girl to go into a panicked frenzy of sorts after receiving a bag that had a patch with no numbers or worse yet, no patch at all!
The fact is not all bags have them. Actually, most do not! Nobody really knows for certain what determines Coach’s decision to place a leather creed patch with numbers in certain bags but a general rule of thumb is this: If Coach deems the purse a handbag, it will have a leather creed patch with numbers . Items not counting as handbags would include wristlets, mini skinny’s, cosmetic pouch bags and other accessories. There will sometimes be leather patches with the creed, but not any numbers in these smaller accessory type products. The numbers, when present, represent the style number and a code of date of manufacture. So you will see the same style number on every bag of that style but you might find some bags with different numbers other than the style numbers. The numbers can also contain letters.
There are more than a few different creeds but the most common ones will read something like these:
THIS IS A COACH BAG. IT WAS HANDCRAFTED IN CHINA FROM THE FINEST MATERIALS TRIMMED WITH GENUINE LEATHER. ITS SUPERIOR CRAFTSMANSHIP AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL REFLECT OUR COMMITMENT TO ENDURING QUALITY.
THIS IS A COACH BAG. IT WAS HANDCRAFTED IN CHINA OF COMPLETELY NATURAL SOFT MILLED COWHIDE. THE VARIATIONS IN THE GRAIN ARE CHARACTERISTIC OF NATURAL FULL GRAIN LEATHER.
Most of the leather patches are beautifully embossed. Some of the newer bags have a metallic cursive style writing on them rather than an embossing. Some of the accessory type bags, as mentioned above, will not have any numbers but may still have a creed of sorts, usually a shorter version of the above examples.
Another misconception is that Coach bags are made in the USA and that anything made in China must be fake. This is not true and it’s hard to believe so many people believe it. Coach hasn’t made bags in the USA for about 10 years and 90% or more of their products are manufactured in China. There are other countries too such as Turkey, Italy, Pakistan, Mexico and India among others. You will almost always see the word China on their creed patches.
The bottom line is that just because a Coach bag is without a leather creed, does not mean it’s a knockoff. Most companies manufacturing fake bags would put one in anyways. It might not be the correct style numbers. It might not be leather. It might have words spelled incorrectly. Still, it will likely be there with a fake bag. So don’t get too excited by a “no patch” bag. Instead, learn the style number of your bag and if it has a patch, see that it matches the numbers on the creed. Check for incorrect spellings. Make sure the patch is actually leather. To recap, if it’s a small pouch bag, cosmetic bag, wristlet or other accessory, it likely shouldn’t have one in it anyway. Of course, there are exceptions to this accessories rule, but it’s accurate most of the time. Some of the more expensive accessories will have the full creed in them such as limited edition items.

Millions in this world are dying of hunger and poverty and others are finding it hard to provide their families with the bare necessities – food, shelter, clothes and medicine, leave alone furnishings for their homes. In times such as these charities take used furniture and donate to the needy which is creating a difference in the lives of millions of people.
People around the world go workless due to various reasons such as there may be no jobs or there could have been disasters like fire or floods. Homeless people when they move into a house they would not be having any furnishings, since they would not be having the finances for it. Furthermore, without furnishings no home is complete. To assist the tragedy struck people recover furnishings for their home, various charities are providing this with donated furnishings.
Nowadays various charities are coming up with plans to provide gently used home furnishings to victims of various natural disasters such as the hurricane Katrina; families living below the poverty line; women and children victims of internal violence at home; low income families; single mothers/fathers trying to make ends meet; schools, shelters; In addition, thousand others in need. Used furnishings is the best way possible to meet such needs and to this effect dozens of furnishing banks are thriving in America, distributing over a million donated items to more than 100,000 families and private individuals needing who need assistance.
Several charity organizations have come up with different plans to pick up charity donations and make it easy for those donating and also for those accepting such furnishings. Some organizations like The Salvation Army have a base of drop-off points where one can donate ones used furnishings.
The National Furniture Bank Association (NFBA) is a non-profit organization where the general public donates furnishings. It is then distributed to people in need. Retailers and manufacturers can also get involved with the program by becoming a corporate sponsor of the NFBA public awareness campaign, called Help1up.
Again, quite a few thrift stores have come up which gives away the used furnishings directly to the families who need it. S.A.F.E is an organization providing assistance to abused women who are forced to leave their homes quickly and leave their stuff behind. It provides a storage unit for used furnishings of the abused women. Another association called Albany community Action Partnerships Furniture Assistance Program helps provide furnishings to low-income families. Excess Access is another charitable program that serves the US, Canada and beyond.
Charity donations are also sold in over 2,100 Goodwill retail stores while Freecycle’s has a mission of building a movement worldwide which primarily focuses on gifting and which serves to cut out waste and save the natural resources thus easing the burden on our planet.
However, before charities take your used furnishings you must make sure it is clean and in good shape, free of rips and stains and should have no part should be found missing or broken. Charities prefer picking up a minimum of two pieces, preferably a dresser or a sofa, and prefer items to be in the best possible conditions for immediate reuse. These points must be checked before donating used furniture as majority of recipients receiving donated furnishings are not in a position in affording to have it cleaned or repaired. Sofas, beds, dressers, kitchen table with chairs is some of the various kinds of furnishings that may be donated.
